Aims & Scope
The Journal of Psychological Medicine (JPM) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal published by Directive Publications, dedicated to the science and practice of psychological medicine at the interface of mind, brain, and body. As an open access psychiatry journal, it advances rigorous scholarship across clinical psychiatry, psychosomatic and consultation-liaison medicine, neuropsychiatry, and behavioral medicine, connecting clinicians, researchers, and trainees worldwide.
The journal publishes original research, systematic reviews, clinical guidelines, case reports, and editorials spanning mood, anxiety and stress-related disorders (including depression, PTSD, and emotional distress in caregivers), cognitive impairment and dementia (with cognitive screening tools such as the MMSE and MoCA), substance-related and addictive disorders, sleep and circadian disturbance, and the psychological dimensions of medical illness.
Methodological breadth is welcomed, from epidemiology, actigraphy, and neuropsychological assessment to translational and qualitative studies. JPM serves psychiatrists, psychologists, neuroscientists, primary-care physicians, and allied mental-health professionals seeking trustworthy, internationally accessible evidence.
Every submission undergoes double-blind peer review. Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence with authors retaining copyright, assigned a permanent Crossref DOI, indexed for discovery via OpenAlex and Google Scholar, and exposed through an OAI-PMH endpoint. The journal follows COPE ethical principles.
