Abstract:
Uncontrolled proliferation of abnormal cells that begin in one or both lungs is known as lung cancer. The aberrant cells fail to develop into healthy lung tissue and are unable to perform the duties of regular lung cells. As time went on,The tumors that arise from the aberrant cells impede the lung’s ability to function.

Introduction: There were 1.8 million new instances of lung cancer and 1.6
million deaths associated with the disease in 2012.Because
of this, lung cancer is the second most prevalent cause of
cancer-related deaths in males and the most common cause
of cancer-related deaths overall.mortality among women
from cancer following a diagnosis of breast cancer. The bulk
of lung cancer cases (85%) are caused by long-term smoking,
with only 10-15% of instances occurring in individuals who
have never smoked. These cases were frequently brought
on by a confluence of hereditary factors and exposure to air
pollution, asbestos, radon gas, secondhand smoke, or other
sources.Lung cancer ranks 15th among Saudi women and
5th among Saudi men in terms of frequency of occurrence in
Saudi Arabia. In 2013, data indicated.
Smoking is often the leading cause of lung cancer— both in
smokers and in people exposed to secondhand smoke.Lung
cancer can also occur in people who have never smoked.
Types of Lung Cancer: Based on how lung cancer cells
appear under a microscope, doctors classify lung cancer into
two main categories. How your doctor treats you based on
the primary type of lung cancer you currently have.Small cell
lung cancer: Smokers who smoke heavily are nearly the only
ones who develop small cell lung cancer.Non-small cell lung
cancer: This general phrase refers to a group of lung cancer
forms that share characteristics.Squamous cell carcinoma,
adenocarcinoma, and large cell carcinoma are examples of
non-small cell lung malignancies.
Symptoms: In its early stages, lung cancer usually doesn’t show any symptoms at all. Instead, signs and symptoms usually appear later after the disease has progressed. Risk factors for lung cancer include: • Smoking: the quantity of cigarettes smoked daily and the number of years smoked increase the risk of lung cancer.Giving up smoking can dramatically reduce the chance of getting lung cancer at any age. • Being around secondhand smoke. • Being near radon gas. • Contact with carcinogens, including nickel, arsenic, chromium, and asbestos. • A parent or sibling has a history of lung cancer in the family. Diagnosis: X-ray pictures are used to diagnose lung cancer. Sputum cytology; lung tissue samples (biopsy); CT scans Prevention: Steer clear of secondhand smoke and give up smoking. Check your house for radon; stay away from carcinogens at work; eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables; and exercise on a regular basis Treatment: Various aspects are taken into consideration while selecting a treatment plan, including the patient’s overall health, the type and stage of their cancer, and their personal preferences.
inclinations: • Surgery: The portion of tissue containing the cancerous tumor is removed, leaving a margin of healthy tissue surrounding it. Surgical procedure types:- Wedge resection: a surgical procedure in which a triangle-shaped segment of tissue is removed to remove the lung portion containing the malignant tissue. - Lobectomy: a surgical procedure in which the entire lung’s lobe is removed to remove malignant tissue. Radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and pneumonectomy - Targeted medication therapy Ceritinib (Zykadia), Crizotinib (Xalkori), Erlotinib (Tarceva), Nivolumab (Opdivo), Afatinib (Gilotrif), Bevacizumab (Avastin), Ramucirumab (Cyramza) Clinical Recovery.
