sparing surrounding healthy tissues. Techniques such as
intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic
body radiation therapy (SBRT), and proton therapy have
improved treatment accuracy and reduced toxicity, leading
to better patient tolerance and outcomes.
Immunotherapy Integration
The integration of immunotherapy with radiation
therapy has emerged as a promising approach in cancer
treatment. Combining radiation’s local tumor control with
immunotherapy’s systemic immune response has shown
synergistic effects, especially in challenging-to-treat cancers.
However, optimizing treatment regimens and managing
immune-related toxicities remain key challenges.
Radiogenomics and Personalized Medicine
Advances in radiogenomics have paved the way for
personalized treatment approaches based on an individual’s
