Abstract:

This study was to work out the validity and responsibleness of port scale changed by Palma & Cook in adult patients hospitalized in essential care unit in Iran. Methods: This study may be a method analysis. once translating English version of GCSC to Persian version by international quality of life assessment methodology , a hundred and twenty patients hospitalized in essential care unit elite by non probable, convenience, accessible and purposeful sampling. Eight observers (principle investigator, six nurses and one anaesthesia resident) assessed patients and severally recorded a GCSC and port Coma scores . additionally, the PI marked a 10cm visual analog scale and recorded Richmond sedation/agitation score so as to work out the validity of GCSC. Results: Interrater responsibleness for GCSC score was "excellent". Interclass correlation in trained cluster was zero.999 and also the weighted letter of the alphabet score for interrater agreement was zero.999 (p > 0.001). In validity testing, GCSC correlate extremely with visual analog scale (r=0.902) and correlations with Richmond sedation/agitation scale (r=0.899) and with port Coma (r=0.970).
