Abstract:
Immunotherapy represents a groundbreaking advancement in oncology, leveraging the immune system to combat malignancies through highly innovative approaches. Over the past decade, treatments such as immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, cancer vaccines, and CAR-natural killer (CAR-NK) cells have revolutionized cancer care. Immune checkpoint inhibitors like pembrolizumab have achieved durable responses in cancers such as melanoma and non-smallcell lung cancer (NSCLC), while CAR-T therapies, such as tisagenlecleucel, have demonstrated remarkable efficacy in treating hematologic malignancies like acute lymphoblastic leukemia. These therapies exploit the immune system’s ability to recognize and attack tumors, offering hope for long-term remission in patients who previously had limited treatment options.
