Authors retain the copyright to their published articles. There is no transfer of copyright to the publisher.
All articles are published under the CC-BY 4.0 licence. Under this licence, anyone may:

Where a manuscript includes material owned by third parties (e.g. figures or extended quotations), authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions and providing appropriate attribution.
Because authors retain copyright and articles are openly licensed, authors may deposit the published version of record in institutional or subject repositories and on personal pages, with no embargo.
When reusing an article, please cite the authors, the journal, the year, and the DOI. Tools to export citations (and the article’s DOI) are available on each article page.
