We are committed to equitable access to scholarly publishing. Where an Article Processing Charge applies, waivers and discounts ensure that lack of funding does not prevent the publication of sound, peer-reviewed research.
Waiver or discount requests should be made at the time of submission, before peer review begins, by contacting [email protected]. Requests are assessed confidentially.
Waiver requests and payment status are kept entirely separate from peer review. Editorial decisions are based solely on merit and are never affected by an author’s ability to pay or by a waiver request.
Because charges apply only after acceptance and cover work that is then performed (editing, production, DOI registration, hosting, and preservation), fees are generally non-refundable once the article has entered production or been published. If a charge was made in error or a service was not delivered, please contact our editorial office and we will review the matter promptly and fairly.
