Ferroportin Upregulation For Iron Deficient Anemia- A New Research Insight

Abstract:

The present study discuss about a test formulation containing iron and its usefulness in treating iron deficiency anemia. The formulation was tested by CaCo2 cell line using TEER and found superior release of iron from the formulation than from equal strength of ferrous sulphate solution. The clinical evaluation on clinically diagnosed iron deficiency anemia patients has shown statistically significant improvement in hemoglobin, iron, and ferritin, packed cell volume (PCV), total RBC (T.Rbc), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin after 30 and 90 days of treatment.
