Aims & Scope
The Journal of Psychiatry Research (JOPR) is a peer-reviewed, open-access psychiatry research journal published by Directive Publications. It advances the scientific understanding, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders, publishing rigorous original work across clinical psychiatry, biological and neuropsychiatry, psychopharmacology, and mental health services research that informs both bench investigators and frontline clinicians.
The journal welcomes original research, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, case reports, and editorials on mood and anxiety disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, autism spectrum and neurodevelopmental conditions, addiction and substance use disorders, forensic psychiatry, and the social determinants of mental health, including stigma and discrimination. Emerging therapeutics such as psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and novel psychopharmacological agents are within scope.
We value methodological transparency across epidemiological, clinical-trial, translational, and qualitative designs, and encourage studies addressing under-served populations and global mental health.
Every submission undergoes double-blind peer review. Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence with authors retaining copyright, receive a permanent Crossref DOI, and are made discoverable through OpenAlex, Google Scholar, and an OAI-PMH endpoint. The journal follows COPE ethical principles.
