Aims & Scope
Journal of Blood is a peer-reviewed, open access hematology journal published by Directive Publications. It provides an international forum for original research, reviews, and case reports spanning the basic, translational, and clinical science of blood, blood-forming organs, and blood disorders. The journal is dedicated to advancing knowledge across the full breadth of hematology and improving the diagnosis, treatment, and understanding of hematologic disease.
The journal welcomes work on anemias and red cell disorders, hematologic malignancies (leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma), thrombosis and hemostasis, platelet and coagulation disorders, transfusion medicine and blood banking, hemoglobinopathies and sickle cell disease, hematopoiesis, bone marrow failure, and hematopoietic stem cell and cellular therapies. We publish laboratory, epidemiological, and clinical studies, including prevalence and cross-sectional research, alongside methodological and translational contributions.
Manuscript types include original research articles, systematic and narrative reviews, clinical case reports, and editorials. Every submission undergoes rigorous double-blind peer review by experts in hematology and is evaluated for scientific quality, methodological soundness, and clinical relevance.
All accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence, with authors retaining copyright, and are assigned a permanent Crossref DOI. Content is discoverable through OpenAlex and Google Scholar and is exposed via an OAI-PMH endpoint for harvesting, ensuring durable citability and global reach for hematology researchers, clinicians, and trainees.
