Aims & Scope
The Journal of HIV/AIDS Research is a peer-reviewed, open access journal published by Directive Publications and dedicated to the clinical, virological, immunological, and public-health dimensions of HIV and AIDS. It serves clinicians, virologists, immunologists, epidemiologists, public-health researchers, and policy specialists working to improve prevention, treatment, and the lives of people living with HIV.
The journal welcomes original research, reviews, clinical trials, case reports, and editorials across antiretroviral therapy (ART) and drug resistance, viral load and CD4 monitoring, HIV prevention including PrEP, PEP and vaccines, and prevention of mother-to-child transmission. We also prioritize work on opportunistic infections, tuberculosis and hepatitis co-infections, the latent HIV reservoir, and HIV cure research.
Further themes include HIV epidemiology and surveillance, care of immunocompromised patients, immune reconstitution, treatment adherence, key-population health, and the lived experience of HIV/AIDS care across diverse settings.
Every submission undergoes double-blind peer review. Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence with authors retaining copyright, are assigned a permanent Crossref DOI, and are discoverable through OpenAlex, Google Scholar, and an OAI-PMH endpoint, following COPE ethical principles.
