Aims & Scope
World Journal of Eating Disorders is a peer-reviewed, open-access eating disorders journal from Directive Publications, serving researchers, clinicians, dietitians, and mental-health professionals worldwide and advancing the science and clinical practice of feeding and eating disorders.
The scope spans anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and other specified feeding or eating disorders. We welcome work on epidemiology, screening and diagnosis, body image and psychosocial determinants, the metabolic correlates of disordered eating (leptin, ghrelin, PCOS, insulin resistance), comorbidity with depression and anxiety, and treatments including cognitive behavioral therapy and family-based treatment.
Article types include original research, systematic and narrative reviews, clinical case reports, study protocols, and editorials, each evaluated by double-blind peer review.
Accepted articles publish open access under a CC-BY 4.0 licence with authors retaining copyright, receive a permanent Crossref DOI, and are discoverable via OpenAlex, Google Scholar, and an OAI-PMH endpoint.
