Aims & Scope
The Journal of Vascular Medicine (JVM) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal from Directive Publications dedicated to the science and clinical practice of vascular medicine. It publishes original research, systematic and narrative reviews, clinical trials, case reports and editorials spanning the full arterial, venous and lymphatic spectrum, connecting vascular physicians, angiologists, hematologists, cardiologists, vascular surgeons and translational scientists worldwide.
Core topics include peripheral artery disease, critical limb ischemia, carotid and aortic disease, venous thromboembolism, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and chronic venous insufficiency. We also welcome work on vascular biology and endothelial dysfunction, atherosclerosis, angiogenesis, thrombosis and hemostasis, anticoagulation management, vascular imaging, and endovascular and medical therapy.
Emerging and special-population themes are encouraged, including fibromuscular dysplasia, spontaneous coronary artery dissection, onco-vascular medicine and diabetic vascular disease, bridging bench mechanisms to bedside outcomes.
Every submission undergoes rigorous double-blind peer review. Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0 licence with authors retaining copyright, receive a permanent Crossref DOI, and are made discoverable through OpenAlex, Google Scholar and an OAI-PMH endpoint, following COPE ethical principles.

Who should read and publish in the Journal of Vascular Medicine?
JVM is written for vascular physicians, angiologists, cardiologists, hematologists, vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists and translational vascular scientists. Researchers and clinicians working on arterial, venous, thromboembolic or vascular-biology questions are encouraged to read and submit.
What article types does the Journal of Vascular Medicine accept?
JVM accepts original research, systematic and narrative reviews, clinical trial reports, brief reports, case reports and case series, study protocols, and editorials or commentaries on topics across vascular medicine.
How do I submit a manuscript to the Journal of Vascular Medicine?
Prepare your manuscript according to the author guidelines and submit through the Directive Publications submission page. Each submission to JVM is checked for scope and ethics, then sent for double-blind peer review by experts in vascular medicine.
Is the Journal of Vascular Medicine open access, and what is the licence?
Yes. JVM is fully open access. Accepted articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence so authors retain copyright while readers worldwide can freely read, share and reuse the work with attribution.
Does the Journal of Vascular Medicine use peer review and assign DOIs?
Every article in JVM undergoes double-blind peer review and, on acceptance, receives a permanent Crossref DOI. Articles are made discoverable via OpenAlex, Google Scholar and an OAI-PMH endpoint, and the journal follows COPE ethical principles.
Is there an article-processing charge, and are waivers available?
