Aims & Scope

The Journal of Veterinary Science & Research (JOVSR) is a peer-reviewed, open access veterinary science journal published by Directive Publications. It advances the evidence base of animal health by publishing original research, systematic reviews, clinical trials, case reports, and editorials across companion-animal, livestock, equine, wildlife, and laboratory-animal medicine, bridging fundamental science and everyday clinical and field practice.

The journal welcomes work spanning veterinary anaesthesia and pharmacology (sedation protocols, analgesia, drug routes), animal disease epidemiology and surveillance (transboundary disease, leptospirosis, One Health and AI-driven outbreak prediction), veterinary toxicology and environmental health (fluorosis, contaminant exposure), animal nutrition and feed science (silage and forage quality), and small-animal and comparative medicine. Methodological rigour, reproducibility, and animal-welfare reporting (ARRIVE-aligned) are core editorial priorities.

Intended for veterinarians, animal scientists, epidemiologists, toxicologists, and educators worldwide, JOVSR ensures every accepted manuscript undergoes double-blind peer review and is published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence, with authors retaining copyright.

Each article receives a permanent Crossref DOI and is discoverable through OpenAlex, Google Scholar, and an OAI-PMH endpoint for harvesting. The journal follows COPE ethical principles, with an article-processing charge applied on acceptance and waivers and discounts available to support equitable global participation.
