Aims & Scope
The Journal of Nephrology is a peer-reviewed, open access journal published by Directive Publications that advances research, education, and clinical practice across the full spectrum of kidney medicine. It serves nephrologists, transplant clinicians, dialysis teams, renal scientists, and trainees worldwide, providing a trusted and freely accessible venue for original scholarship in nephrology.
The journal welcomes original research, reviews, case reports, and editorials spanning chronic kidney disease and CKD staging, acute kidney injury, dialysis and hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, renal transplantation, glomerular and tubulointerstitial disease, electrolyte and acid-base disorders, renal physiology, and translational nephrology including biomarkers and single-cell transcriptomics of the kidney.
We especially encourage clinically grounded studies on disease epidemiology, predictive factors and outcomes, renal infections such as pyelonephritis and urolithiasis, and innovations in renal replacement therapy. Both bench and bedside contributions, including instructive case reports, are within scope.
Every submission undergoes rigorous double-blind peer review. Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence, with authors retaining copyright, and each article receives a permanent Crossref DOI and is made discoverable through OpenAlex, Google Scholar, and an OAI-PMH endpoint, ensuring citability and long-term preservation of the scholarly record.
