Aims & Scope

The Journal of Clinical Pediatrics is a peer-reviewed, open-access clinical pediatrics journal published by Directive Publications for clinicians, researchers, and trainees in child health. The journal advances evidence on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of disease across the pediatric age range, from the neonate in the NICU to the adolescent, and serves as a discoverable, internationally accessible record of clinical pediatric scholarship.

We publish original research, clinical case reports and case series, systematic and narrative reviews, and editorials spanning neonatology and neonatal intensive care, general and community pediatrics, pediatric rheumatology and autoimmunity (including juvenile idiopathic arthritis), pediatric oncology and hematology, pediatric infectious disease and vaccination, and pediatric surgery and orthopedics. Topics include neonatal pain management, post-COVID syndrome in children, rare pediatric syndromes, childhood cancer outcomes, and parental knowledge and behavior.

Manuscripts are evaluated through double-blind peer review against COPE ethical principles. Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence with authors retaining copyright, and each receives a permanent Crossref DOI. Content is indexed by OpenAlex and Google Scholar and exposed through an OAI-PMH endpoint for harvesting, maximizing citability and long-term discoverability.

Clinicians and investigators are invited to read current pediatric research and to submit manuscripts that improve the care and health of infants, children, and adolescents worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What topics does the Journal of Clinical Pediatrics cover?

The Journal of Clinical Pediatrics covers the full spectrum of child health, including neonatology and NICU care, general and community pediatrics, pediatric rheumatology (such as juvenile idiopathic arthritis), pediatric oncology and hematology, pediatric infectious disease and vaccination, post-COVID syndrome in children, and pediatric surgery and orthopedics. It welcomes both clinical research and case reports of rare pediatric conditions.

Who should read and publish in the Journal of Clinical Pediatrics?

The journal is intended for pediatricians, neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, pediatric surgeons, residents and fellows, nurses, and child-health researchers. Authors investigating clinical pediatric problems, reporting instructive cases, or reviewing pediatric evidence are encouraged to submit and to read open-access articles relevant to their practice.

What types of articles does the Journal of Clinical Pediatrics accept?

We accept original research articles, clinical case reports and case series, systematic and narrative reviews, short communications, and editorials in clinical pediatrics. Case reports of rare syndromes, neonatal conditions, and challenging diagnoses are particularly welcome, provided appropriate consent and ethical standards are met.

Is the Journal of Clinical Pediatrics open access, and who holds copyright?

Yes. Every article is published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence, and authors retain copyright of their work. This allows readers worldwide to freely read, download, and reuse pediatric research with proper attribution.

How does peer review work and does each article get a DOI?

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review conducted in line with COPE ethical principles, so author and reviewer identities are protected. Each accepted article is assigned a permanent Crossref DOI and is made discoverable through OpenAlex, Google Scholar, and an OAI-PMH endpoint for indexing services to harvest.

Is there an article-processing charge, and are waivers available?

As an open-access journal, the Journal of Clinical Pediatrics applies an article-processing charge on acceptance to sustain free access. Waivers and discounts are available; authors who need fee support, including those from lower-income settings, should contact the editorial office before or during submission.

How do I submit a manuscript to the Journal of Clinical Pediatrics?

Prepare your manuscript according to the author guidelines, ensure required ethics approvals and patient consent are documented, and submit through the journal's submission page. Original research, case reports, and reviews in any area of clinical pediatrics are considered year-round.

Is the Journal of Clinical Pediatrics indexed, and where can articles be found?

Articles are assigned Crossref DOIs and are discoverable in OpenAlex and Google Scholar, with metadata exposed via OAI-PMH for harvesting. As a newer open-access title, the journal is working toward inclusion in additional indexes such as DOAJ and is structured to be eligible for further pediatric databases over time.
