Aims & Scope
The Journal of Dentistry & Oral Research (JDOR) is a peer-reviewed, open access dentistry and oral research journal published by Directive Publications. It advances clinical and translational scholarship across the breadth of oral health science, serving dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists, endodontists, prosthodontists, pediatric and public-health dental clinicians, and biomedical researchers worldwide.
The journal welcomes original research, clinical trials, in vitro and laboratory studies, systematic reviews, narrative reviews, case reports, and short communications. Core areas include implant dentistry and osseointegration (implant stability, osseodensification, alveolar ridge preservation, abutment design), oral and maxillofacial surgery and tissue regeneration (platelet-rich fibrin, bone regeneration, sinus anatomy), restorative dentistry, endodontics and dental pulp biology (odontogenic differentiation, biomaterials, dental erosion), and pediatric and preventive dentistry (silver diamine fluoride, caries control, oral health education).
JDOR also features emerging themes in digital and public-health dentistry, including artificial intelligence in dental education, genomic dentistry, oral health epidemiology, and access to care. The journal emphasizes methodological rigor, biocompatibility, and clinical effectiveness.
Every submission undergoes double-blind peer review. Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence, with authors retaining copyright, and each receives a permanent Crossref DOI. Content is discoverable via OpenAlex and Google Scholar and harvestable through OAI-PMH, and the journal follows COPE ethical principles.
