Aims & Scope

World Journal of Chronic Diseases (WJOCD) is a peer-reviewed, open access chronic diseases journal published by Directive Publications. It provides an international platform for original research, reviews, case reports and editorials on the prevention, diagnosis, management and long-term outcomes of chronic and noncommunicable diseases across the lifespan, from pediatric onset to adult and geriatric care.

The journal welcomes work spanning chronic kidney disease, diabetes and metabolic disorders, chronic respiratory and cardiovascular conditions, hereditary and gastrointestinal disorders, transplant medicine, and multimorbidity. We particularly value studies on chronic disease epidemiology, self-management interventions, social and structural determinants of health, and care delivery in low- and middle-income settings, alongside high-quality clinical case reports of rare and instructive chronic conditions.

WJOCD serves clinicians, epidemiologists, public health researchers, allied health professionals and policy makers seeking rigorous, globally relevant evidence on long-term conditions. Methodological contributions, translational science and patient-centred outcomes research are encouraged.

Every submission undergoes double-blind peer review. Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence, with authors retaining copyright, and receive a permanent Crossref DOI. Content is discoverable through OpenAlex and Google Scholar and is harvestable via our OAI-PMH endpoint; the journal follows COPE ethical principles. An article-processing charge applies on acceptance, with waivers and discounts available.
