Aims & Scope
The Journal of Climate Research is a peer-reviewed, open access climate change research journal published by Directive Publications. It advances rigorous, policy-relevant scholarship on the physical, ecological, agricultural, and human dimensions of a changing climate, with particular strength in climate change adaptation and mitigation, climate-smart and low-carbon agriculture, rainfall variability and extreme indices, and sustainable land, forest, and landscape management.
We publish original research, systematic and narrative reviews, case studies, methods papers, and editorials. Core topics include climate vulnerability and resilience, spatio-temporal analysis of climate variability, carbon sequestration and soil biological quality, deforestation and charcoal-driven emissions, climate-health surveillance, food security, and the equity and perception dimensions of climate change. The journal welcomes regional and Global South case evidence alongside global syntheses, bridging climate science with development and policy.
Its audience spans climate scientists, agronomists, environmental and earth-system researchers, land and forest managers, public-health and policy professionals, and graduate students. Every submission undergoes double-blind peer review. Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence with authors retaining copyright, are assigned a permanent Crossref DOI, and are made discoverable through OpenAlex, Google Scholar, and an OAI-PMH endpoint. Editorial practice follows COPE principles.
