The Journal of Clinical Microbiology
Advances the science and practice of clinical and medical microbiology. The journal serves microbiologists, infectious disease clinicians, laboratory scientists and public health researchers with rigorous, original scholarship that bridges the diagnostic laboratory and the bedside. We welcome original research, reviews, case reports and editorials across antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and antimicrobial stewardship, diagnostic and molecular microbiology, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections, healthcare-associated infections, bloodstream infections, tuberculosis, and emerging and zoonotic pathogens. Studies applying One Health, genomics, next-generation sequencing and surveillance methods are particularly encouraged. Every submission undergoes double-blind peer review in line with COPE ethical principles. Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence, with authors retaining copyright, and each receives a permanent Crossref DOI. Content is discoverable through Google Scholar and OpenAlex and harvestable via our OAI-PMH endpoint, ensuring citability and long-term availability for a global readership of researchers and practitioners.
