Aims & Scope
The Journal of Cancer & Tumor Research is a peer-reviewed, open-access oncology journal published by Directive Publications, dedicated to disseminating original research across tumor biology, cancer diagnostics, and therapeutics. The journal serves as an internationally accessible platform connecting basic scientists, translational researchers, and clinical oncologists working to understand and treat human cancers.
We publish work spanning molecular and cellular oncology, the tumor microenvironment, cancer biomarkers and risk stratification, genomic alterations (including p53, RAD51B, and HER2-driven tumors), and emerging therapeutics such as PARP inhibitors, anti-angiogenic and anti-mitotic agents, and drug-repurposing strategies. Clinically oriented subfields include urologic oncology (prostate and bladder cancer, hematuria, cystoscopy), gastrointestinal and colorectal cancer, gynecologic and peritoneal malignancies managed with cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, and AIDS-defining cancers.
The journal welcomes original research, systematic and narrative reviews, case reports, methodological studies, and editorials. Submissions are evaluated through rigorous double-blind peer review to ensure scientific integrity and methodological soundness.
All accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence with authors retaining copyright, are assigned a permanent Crossref DOI, and are made discoverable through OpenAlex, Google Scholar, and an OAI-PMH endpoint, in line with COPE ethical principles.

Frequently Asked Questions
What topics does the Journal of Cancer & Tumor Research cover?
The Journal of Cancer & Tumor Research covers the full breadth of oncology, including tumor biology and the tumor microenvironment, cancer biomarkers and diagnostics, molecular and genomic alterations (such as p53 and HER2), and cancer therapeutics. Clinical areas include urologic oncology (prostate and bladder cancer), colorectal and gastrointestinal cancers, gynecologic and peritoneal malignancies treated with cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, and AIDS-defining cancers.
Who should read or publish in the Journal of Cancer & Tumor Research?
The journal is intended for cancer biologists, translational researchers, medical and surgical oncologists, pathologists, urologists, and clinician-scientists. Authors investigating tumor biology, biomarkers, novel therapeutics, or clinical management of solid and special-population cancers are encouraged to submit to reach an international oncology readership.
What types of articles does the Journal of Cancer & Tumor Research accept?
The journal accepts original research articles, systematic and narrative review articles, case reports and case studies, methodological papers, and editorials. Both laboratory-based (basic and translational) and clinically oriented oncology studies are welcome, including biomarker validation, drug mechanism studies, and treatment-outcome reports.
How does peer review work at the Journal of Cancer & Tumor Research?
Every submission undergoes double-blind peer review, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential from each other. Manuscripts are assessed for scientific validity, methodological rigor, novelty, and ethical compliance in accordance with COPE principles before an editorial decision is made.
Is the Journal of Cancer & Tumor Research open access, and who holds the copyright?
Yes. All accepted articles are published fully open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) licence, and authors retain copyright to their work. Readers worldwide can freely access, share, and build upon the research, while every article receives a permanent Crossref DOI for reliable citation.
Is there an article-processing charge, and are waivers available?
As an open-access journal, the Journal of Cancer & Tumor Research applies an article-processing charge only upon acceptance; there are no submission fees. Waivers and discounts are available, and authors who anticipate difficulty meeting the charge are encouraged to contact the editorial office during submission. Please contact us for the current charge.
How will my article be discovered and cited after publication?
