Aims & Scope
The Journal of Clinical Breast Cancer (JCBC) is a peer-reviewed, open-access clinical breast cancer journal published by Directive Publications for oncologists, breast surgeons, pathologists, radiation and medical oncologists, translational scientists and trainees. The journal advances evidence across the full continuum of breast oncology, from screening and early detection to diagnosis, multimodal treatment, survivorship and the molecular biology that underpins clinical decision-making.
We welcome original research, systematic reviews, narrative reviews, clinical trial reports, case reports and editorials on breast cancer diagnosis, histopathology, chemotherapy and targeted therapy, HER2-positive and triple-negative disease, endocrine therapy, metastatic breast cancer management, and image-guided interventions such as high-intensity focused ultrasound. Translational and laboratory studies on tumor biology, oxidative stress and NADPH oxidase signaling, epigenetic alterations, biomarkers and 2D/3D tumor models are equally in scope.
Every submission undergoes rigorous double-blind peer review. Accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) license with authors retaining copyright, assigned a permanent Crossref DOI, and made discoverable through OpenAlex, Google Scholar and an OAI-PMH endpoint. The journal follows COPE ethical principles and charges an article-processing fee on acceptance, with waivers and discounts available.

Frequently Asked Questions
What topics does the Journal of Clinical Breast Cancer cover?
JCBC covers the full spectrum of breast oncology: screening and early detection, breast cancer diagnosis and histopathology, chemotherapy, HER2-targeted and endocrine therapy, triple-negative and metastatic breast cancer, surgical and image-guided treatment such as high-intensity focused ultrasound, and translational research on tumor biology, oxidative stress, biomarkers and molecular subtypes.
Who should read and publish in the Journal of Clinical Breast Cancer?
The journal serves medical, surgical and radiation oncologists, breast surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, translational and basic scientists, oncology nurses and trainees. Authors investigating any clinical or translational aspect of breast cancer, including clinicians reporting case series and researchers presenting laboratory or biomarker work, are encouraged to submit.
What article types does the Journal of Clinical Breast Cancer accept?
JCBC accepts original research articles, systematic and narrative reviews, clinical trial reports, case reports and short communications, and editorials addressing the theoretical, methodological, translational and applied dimensions of clinical breast cancer.
Is the Journal of Clinical Breast Cancer open access, and who holds copyright?
Yes. All accepted articles are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0) license, so anyone can read and reuse them with attribution. Authors retain copyright to their work, and each article receives a permanent Crossref DOI for citability and long-term access.
How does peer review work at the Journal of Clinical Breast Cancer?
Every manuscript undergoes double-blind peer review, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are mutually concealed. The journal follows COPE ethical principles to ensure fair, rigorous and transparent assessment of breast cancer research before publication.
Is there an article-processing charge, and are waivers available?
As an open-access journal, JCBC applies an article-processing charge on acceptance to support peer review, production and permanent hosting. Waivers and discounts are available; authors who need financial support should contact the editorial office when submitting.
How discoverable and citable are articles in the Journal of Clinical Breast Cancer?
Each article is assigned a permanent Crossref DOI and is discoverable through OpenAlex and Google Scholar, with metadata exposed via an OAI-PMH endpoint for harvesting. The journal is also preparing further indexing applications to broaden visibility for breast oncology research.
How do I submit my breast cancer manuscript to the journal?
Authors can submit through the journal's submission page after reviewing the author guidelines for formatting, ethics and reporting requirements. JCBC welcomes clinical and translational breast cancer studies from researchers worldwide and aims for a constructive, efficient double-blind review process.
